Loi Krathong
Romantic, beautiful and magic Loi Krathong is the second most popular festival after Songkran. As water is one of the main resources of Asian people, on this day we show our gratitude to the Goddess of Water. Krathong is a lotus-shaped receptacle which can float on the water. Traditionally we make them from banana leaves and the layers of the trunk of a banana tree, decorate with flowers, candles and personal trifles. After people finish the celebration, the festival goes on for fish and other water animals and their feast continues for a few days. At our Cultural Center you can learn how to make your own krathong, make your wish and float it together with us in our beautiful lake.
